Welcome to MKG Ludo

A guide for the games you come back to

Some games start with a quick rule explanation. Others start with a debate about what happens after three sixes. We help with both: learn the basics, settle common questions and find a fresh way to practise.

01

Learn the rules

Understand the shared track, captures and home lane before your first full match.

02

Compare your choices

Look at safety, progress and the other tokens instead of moving on instinct.

03

Make room for everyone

Find simple ways to teach new players and organise a relaxed family game.

Start with the basics

How to play Ludo, step by step

Use this overview for a common version of Ludo. Check the instructions for your own board or app before you begin.

  1. Choose a colour

Place your four tokens in the matching yard. Agree who starts, which squares are safe and what earns an extra turn.

  2. Bring a token out

A six commonly lets you enter the track. When more than one move is possible, choose the token you want to use.

  3. Move and watch the board

Move by the full roll. Landing on an opponent on an ordinary square commonly sends that token back to its yard.

  4. Bring your tokens home

Follow the track into your colour’s home lane. Many versions require an exact roll to finish each token.

The Ludo rules worth agreeing on

A one-minute conversation can prevent a mid-game argument. Safe squares and bonus turns are not identical in every version.

A few things to know

Ludo & MKG Ludo: common questions

What can I find on MKG Ludo?

Read beginner-friendly Ludo rules, practical strategy guides and articles about family board games. The guides explain common versions and flag rules that can differ between boards or apps.

How do you win a game of Ludo?

In the common four-token race, you win by bringing all four of your tokens home before the other players. Many versions need an exact roll to finish. Dice affect the outcome, so no strategy guarantees a win.

Do all Ludo games use the same rules?

No. Safe squares, stacked tokens, extra turns and penalties for repeated sixes can vary. Check your board’s instructions or your app’s rules screen before playing.

Can I read the guides on my phone?

Yes. The guides work in a mobile browser and do not need an account or an app download. Each article includes section links so you can jump to the explanation you need.

Can I play a match or use a wallet here?

The pages available here provide game guides. This website version does not include a playable match, payment service or working account registration. Reading an article does not require a deposit or sign-in.

Keep it enjoyable

Play for the game, not a promise.

A thoughtful move can still meet an unlucky roll. Take breaks, respect the other players and give yourself room to learn.
